A short, honest process
Read first. Ask if you want. Hire directly, or not at all.
Read the guides
Our cost guides and service pages show typical prices from published sources, what drives them, and what a good quote contains. Use them with or without us.
Send a request
Tell us your ZIP, the project, and anything useful. We read every request ourselves. Nothing is auto-forwarded.
We reply, honestly
If an independent pro in our network covers your area, we introduce you, with your consent. If we have nobody there yet, we tell you that, and your details go no further.
What we check before we refer a pro
We refer a pro only after confirming that they hold the contractor registration or license their state requires for the work, carry liability insurance, and have a working local business presence. We are a new service and our network is small. That is why some areas have no pro yet.
Our check is a starting point, not a guarantee. Credentials lapse, and nothing we do replaces your own look. Before you hire anyone, we recommend you:
Verify yourself
- Look up the pro on your state contractor licensing or registration board
- Ask for a certificate of insurance sent directly from the insurer
- Get at least two written quotes that describe the same scope
- Read the contract: scope, payment schedule, permits, warranty
- Never pay the full price up front
What we do not do
- Do the work, supervise it, or guarantee it
- Set prices, or give you a binding quote
- Sell your information to third parties
- Publish fake reviews, ratings, or “licensed and insured” badges we cannot back up
- Pressure you. A request is not a contract.
How we are paid
Homeowners pay nothing. Independent pros may pay Trim & Truss when we refer a homeowner to them. That is the business model, and we state it here and in the footer of every page. It does not influence the cost figures in our guides, which come from published sources that we link.
